Activity Log

Learn how to use the Activity Log on a task

Updated on April 16th, 2025

The Activity Log is an easy way to see what key details have recently been edited on a task, e.g. changes to status or priority.

Access the Activity Log via the Task Tabs on a Task Worksheet.

Who has access to the Activity Log?

By default, anyone in the Manager and Supervisor permission group will be able to view the Activity Log. To give access to custom permission groups, Site Administrators can enable the Activity Log via:

Permission Groups > [Select permission group] > Tasks > Fields > Activity Log > View (set to ticked).

Can't see any history?

The activity log will only start recording events from Wednesday 26 February, 2025. Events from before this date will not be recorded in the activity log. If there are no applicable events, 'No Activity Recorded’ will be shown.

What actions will trigger an entry?

The following task actions will trigger an entry in the Activity Log:

  • Task (Job Number) created
  • Status changed
  • Substatus changed
  • Task Name changed
  • Task Type changed
  • Priority changed
  • Due Date changed
  • Customer ON changed
  • Client changed
  • Owner changed
  • Project changed
  • Project Stage changed

The Activity Log will capture data at the time it's recorded, i.e. if you change the name of a client or a substatus, the Activity Log will display the data as it was named at the time.
