Learn how to use use the layout setup options in a custom layout in AroFlo Office

Updated on July 22nd, 2024

Click Layout Setup to access a range of settings that control the general behavior of the layout. These settings are explained in the table below.

Setting Description
Layout Template Type Used to create RTF layouts.
Snap to Grid

When moving elements, AroFlo aligns them to an invisible grid. The number in the pixels field determines the size of the grid.

Turn this off temporarily to move elements around freely.

Snap to Element

Aligns elements to the closest element.

This is overridden by Snap to Grid so turn this off if you wish to use Snap to Element.

When aligning, drag the element very slowly against another element to align.

Move Elements Gives you the ability to move elements around.
Resize Elements

Gives you the ability to resize elements.

Turn this off temporarily to move small elements around.

Page Orientation Select the page orientation (Portrait or Landscape).
External Filename

Create a customized filename for the layout. As well as typing your own information, you can also choose layout fields, e.g. address of job, invoice number, date of invoice (in the case of an invoice layout).

  • This is useful if you plan on sending the same invoice layout to multiple clients as the filename will be different for each client.
  • Type in the box to enter your own text and/or use an open square bracket [ to search field names and autocomplete.

If you don't create a customized filename, the filename will have a default, e.g. Invoice [Invoice No.] for an Invoice layout, Quote [Ref No.] for a Quote layout, and Jobsheet [Ref No.] for a Jobsheet layout.

Create Blank Layout Erases all elements from the layout so you can start again.
Import Existing Layout

Each area of AroFlo (e.g. tasks, quotes, invoices) has specific layout types saved. If you want to use one of your quote layouts on an invoice, for example, you can click Import Existing Layout and search for the layout you need in the Search Custom Layouts window.

You can also import an external custom layout that's been sent to you by another AroFlo client, or by AroFlo Customer Service. See Share a Custom Layout for details.

Save & Export Current Layout Exports a layout. See Share a Custom Layout.
